Tua Tagovailoa made his NFL debut late in Sunday’s win over the awful New York Jets and then following the game he made his way back out on the field in Miami to take it all in, which was a special moment for the QB who suffered a serious hip injury last year at Alabama, an injury that could have led to Sunday never happening.
Tagovailoa completed both passes that he threw on Sunday for a total of nine yards, but just being out on the field was all that mattered for the No. 5 pick in last April’s NFL draft.
Tagovailoa went out to the 15 yard line, which was special to him because he dislocated his hip on the 15 yard line at Mississippi State last November, and sat there for a while by himself, most likely thinking about all that went into his first NFL game.
Check this out:
Tua Tagovailoa went back to the field and he’s sitting around the 15-yard-line in full uniform. It looks like he’s soaking this moment in.

Tua Tagovailoa came back out onto the field and sat there alone for maybe 7 minutes to soak it all in. Then he went back inside. pic.twitter.com/HureebGd5e

Tua still in field. Looked like he was on phone, maybe FaceTiming someone. pic.twitter.com/Y4AbL4j02a
