When Tua Tagovailoa suffered a season-ending hip injury against Mississippi State, most people assumed it would be his final game as the starting quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

During a recent interview with ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit, the former Heisman runner-up hasn’t made any decisions regarding his future. In fact, Tagovailoa admitted that there were risks and rewards involved either way:
“You think of risk-reward on coming back. You think of risk-reward on leaving. And when I look at it, I kind of look at it, if I come back, the risk is what if I get hurt again? But the reward could be maybe I jump back to the top of the charts, the boards for all these teams.”
At this time, Tagovailoa has not discussed the looming decision with his family, but he did say that are supporting him no matter what.
It will be interesting to see what comes of this, as his return to Tuscaloosa could vault Alabama back into the national championship conversation for 2020 — well, more than they already would be.
During his three-year career, Tagovailoa completed 69.3 percent of his 684 pass attempts for 7, 442 yards and 87 touchdowns. His 10.9 yards per attempt mark extremely impressive, and he only tossed 11 interceptions in 32 career games as well.
Whether he chooses to go to the NFL or come back for his senior season, Tagovailoa should continue to carry the full support from all of Alabama Nation.
