Tua Tagovailoa could be a fantasy football sleeper this year

He’s currently the 16th quarterback drafted.

With the start of the NFL season just around the corner, most fantasy football leagues are finishing up their drafts in the coming days, and owners may be looking for some sleepers that could outperform their draft position.

Right now, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa could fall into that category. According to FantasyPros, Tagovailoa is currently being drafted as QB16 and 128th overall. That’s the 13th round in a 10-team league and 11th round in a 12-team.

Last season, Tagovailoa finished as the 26th-best quarterback in fantasy football, scoring 190.92 points.

Since then, the Dolphins have brought in an offensive-minded head coach, dynamic weapons like Tyreek Hill and an improved offensive line to help Tagovailoa take that next step on gamedays.

The quarterbacks that are going just ahead of Tagovailoa are Kirk Cousins, Derek Carr and Trey Lance. All three have some decent weapons to throw to as well, but they also all have questions just like Tagovailoa.

With all of the improvements that the Dolphins have made to their offense, it feels like Tagovailoa has a great chance to finish the season better than the 16th-best quarterback in fantasy football.
