Troy College Football Preview 2022: Team breakdown, season prediction, keys to the campaign, and what you need to know

Troy Trojans Season Prediction, What Will Happen

Troy will be two wins better on experience alone.

Oh, there’s work to be done. The offense has to be far more productive and explosive, the defense has to be stronger against the better offenses, and the team has to figure out how to come up with a style that screws up everyone else, but the base of veteran talent is more than enough to go bowling.

At the very least, the defensive front will destroy the weaker offensive fronts, and the offense should be a bit more balanced and competent. That alone should be enough to get to six wins and a bowl game for the first time since 2018.

Set The Troy Trojans Regular Season Win Total At … 6

The Trojans won’t beat Ole Miss to start the season, and they’re probably not going to have enough to get by Appalachian State on the road in the Sun Belt opener.

Going to WKU will be dangerous, and the date at Louisiana is a problem, even though it’s coming off a week off. However, Alabama A&M, Texas State, ULM – that has to be a base of three wins to work off of.

Between Marshall, Southern Miss, at South Alabama, and at Arkansas State, Troy needs to come up with two wins, and it has to pull off a big win somewhere – like at home against Army – to get to six.

Or all the talent and experience come together and this becomes the hot Sun Belt team that rips through everyone. For this year, just going bowling and getting back on track is enough.
