Middleweight Troy Isley kept the American men perfect in Olympic boxing Monday in Tokyo.
Isley, one of the first three pros to represent the U.S. in the Games, defeated Vitali Bandarenka of Belarus 5-0 to advance to the Round of 16. Isley is 2-0 (1 KO) as a professional.
The resident of Alexandria, Virgina, will now face 2019 World Champion Gleb Bakshi of the Russian Olympic Committee on Thursday.
Isley gave the American men a perfect record of 4-0 to start the Olympics.
Welterweight American Delante Johnson, who won his opening-round bout Saturday, was scheduled to face Ablaikhan Zhussupov of Kazakhstan in the Round of 16 on Monday evening U.S. time.
In the same session, in the women’s competition, welterweight Oshae Jones of the U.S. was scheduled to face Brianda Tamara Cruz Sandoval of Mexico in the Round of 16.
