USC is expected to easily defeat Colorado this Saturday, but the Trojans were expected to easily defeat Arizona State last week. That did not happen — not the “easily” part of the equation. USC defeated the Sun Devils, but it was a struggle. The outcome of the game was in doubt several minutes into the fourth quarter.
USC needs to clean up its act in Boulder for this edition of Fox Big Noon Saturday, a serving of breakfast with the Buffaloes. The Trojans need to get on top of this game, put the boot on the throat, and show the consistency which was missing against Arizona State.
Players who struggled versus ASU need to improve this week in Colorado. The Notre Dame game isn’t far away. Players need to show they will be ready for the Fighting Irish in a few weeks. The coaching staff also needs to get clarity on which players deserve to start the bigger games on the schedule later in the season. Unresolved position battles need to be fleshed out, and accountability needs to emerge in the locker room.
