Tristan Thompson not on Canada’s Olympic qualifying roster

Celtics center Tristan Thompson will not be on Canada’s roster as they try to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.

There was some more roster news on Monday but it wasn’t technically for the Celtics.

Celtics big man Tristan Thompson will not play for Canada in the Olympic qualifiers as they attempt to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.

Canada Basketball released the 19-man roster today, which included eight NBA players, headlined by Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins and Knicks guard R.J. Barrett.

Thompson has appeared in International play for Canada five separate times, ranging from the FIBA Americas Under-18 Championships in 2008 to the FIBA World Cup qualifiers in 2018.

In 54 games this season with the Celtics, Thompson averaged 7.6 points and 8.1 rebounds.
