Following a first-team All-Pac-12 junior season, Tristan da Silva is testing the NBA draft waters this spring to determine the value of his stock.
The forward from Germany has until May 31 to withdraw his name and maintain his college eligibility, which would, of course, bode well for a currently stacked 2023-24 CU Buffs men’s basketball team.
Here in early May, it’s looking likely that da Silva will indeed return to Colorado with his name appearing well outside most draft projections. The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie released a top 100 2023 NBA draft big board on Tuesday and da Silva was ranked No. 89, well removed from the top 60 prospects who would theoretically hear their name called in the two-round draft.
It would be great to see another former Buff in the NBA, but da Silva potentially being drafted alongside Cody Williams and KJ Simpson in 2024 would be that much sweeter.
Tristan Da Silva’s placement WELL outside the top 60 (No. 89) bodes well for his chances of returning https://t.co/xAbRsrB6bM
