The final regular season home game of Tristan da Silva’s college career couldn’t have gone much better. In addition to scoring a season-high 27 points, the Colorado men’s basketball senior pulled down 11 rebounds, giving him his fourth career double-double.
More importantly, da Silva’s performance on Sunday night helped the Buffs to an 81-71 win over the struggling Stanford Cardinal. Colorado (20-9, 11-7 Pac-12) has now won four straight games, including the last two without star freshman Cody Williams.
I’ve been repeating this for several weeks now, but Colorado remains in contention for an NCAA Tournament at-large bid.
Along with da Silva, fellow senior Luke O’Brien played in his final career home game on Sunday. The Colorado native finished with three points and two rebounds.
KJ Simpson enjoyed another strong night with 22 points on 5-of-9 shooting from deep, J’Vonne Hadley scored 15 and Eddie Lampkin had 11 before fouling out.
Headed into their final two regular season games, the Buffs are tied with Oregon for third place in the Pac-12 standings at 11-7. The two March Madness-hopeful squads will meet Thursday evening in Eugene.
