Colorado men’s basketball forward Tristan da Silva is returning to the Buffs for his senior season, the program announced Wednesday.
Wednesday is the final day for NBA prospects with college eligibility remaining to return to their schools after testing the draft waters.
Da Silva had his best year in the black and gold last season, putting up a career-high 15.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. Along with that, he proved to be a versatile defender for the Buffs and improved his 3-point shot, hitting 39% from deep this past season. That strong campaign earned him first-team All-Pac-12 honors.
He’ll now return to a stacked Buffs team headlined by fellow All-Pac-12 honoree KJ Simpson and McDonald’s All-American Cody Williams, a five-star incoming freshman.
At 6-foot-9, Tristan da Silva is one of the most skilled and versatile players returning to college basketball; capable of playing a variety of positions and roles as a big wing who can create his own shot and made 39% of his 3-pointers. Colorado will be stacked next season. https://t.co/FmWtMx9GyE pic.twitter.com/xnY2ohg6Vj

The 2023-2024 season is shaping up on paper to be a strong one for the Buffs, and the return of a strong veteran presence to the fold in da Silva is certainly welcome news.
