Trio of Sooners we’ll be watching on offense vs. SMU

When Oklahoma takes on SMU, here are three offensive players that we’ll have our eye on come Saturday evening.

Jalil Farooq, WR

Many media -types penciled in [autotag]Jalil Farooq[/autotag] as someone the Sooners knew they could depend on entering 2023.

The win against Arkansas State was such a feel-good win that it feels like it went under the radar that Farooq had zero catches. His only touch was on a jet sweep, which he took for 10 yards. Other than that, he was non-existent.

Other receivers shined, but Farooq is one of the best players on the team with the ball in his hands, so making sure he has opportunities is critical for Oklahoma.

It’s hard to believe we see non-existent production two games in a row, and Farooq will likely have a much more significant impact come Saturday evening.

If Farooq struggles to get anything going, questions about him taking that next step may begin to circulate.
