The Witching Hour: Los Angeles Rams -3.5 (-110) at Miami Dolphins +3.5 (-110)

The Dolphins (3-3) are unveiling rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa Sunday. The fifth overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Alabama, completed each of his two attempts in a 24-0 Dolphins rout of the New York Jets in Week 6 and had a Week 7 bye to prepare for his first start.

The Rams (5-2) are modest road favorites but have no relevant tape on the former Heisman Trophy nominee. They’re are not only traveling East but also have to combat the end of Daylight Saving Time as clocks fall back.

Both teams are playoff hopefuls through seven weeks, but there are too many unknowns about this Week 8 matchup to feel confident in a wager on either side of a well-set line.

Watch For Undead: New York Jets +19.5 (-110) at Kansas City Chiefs -19.5 (-110)

The 0-7 Jets have long been left for dead and rank last in most offensive and defensive categories. The reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs (6-1) are predictably at the other end of the spectrum offensively and the defense has allowed 20 or fewer points in all but one of the first seven games.

The last six teams favored by at least 21 points since 1992 went just 1-5 against the spread. If this number gets back to where it opened, it should be a warning sign with ample garbage time expected at Arrowhead Stadium.

Adding to the expected nightmare for the Jets and head coach Adam Gase will be the revenge of recently-released RB Le’Veon Bell.

Nevermore: Pittsburgh Steelers +4 (-110) at Baltimore Ravens -4 (-110)

The Steelers (6-0) are the NFL’s final remaining undefeated team following a 27-24 win over the Tennessee Titans last week. The Ravens (6-1) come off a bye and can overtake the top spot in the AFC North with a head-to-head victory. They’ve responded from a Week 3 loss against the Chiefs with a fresh three-game win streak entering their break.

This game sets up as an old school AFC North clash with both teams ranked at the top of the league in all defensive measures. The Ravens’ top-ranked rushing offense will hit the second-ranked run defense of the Steelers.

Will Pittsburgh stay undefeated, or will Baltimore defend home field and take over pole position in the NFL’s most tightly contested division?
