You could make a strong argument that Treylon Burks is the Tennessee Titans’ biggest key to success in 2023.

If the Arkansas product has the type of breakout campaign everyone is expecting, the Titans should be right back in the thick of the playoff conversation, barring another catastrophic season of injuries.

Burks has both the talent and potential to give this offense a much-needed alpha in their passing attack, which is something he showed flashes of becoming toward the end of last season.

Jared Dubin of CBS Sports appears to agree, as he named Burks the Titans’ offensive X-factor for 2023. Dubin stated the following regarding his decision to name Burks:

Tennessee’s offense is based almost entirely around Derrick Henry. But the big man is 29 years old now, and turning 30 late in this season. He has 300-plus carries in three of the last four years, including 349 last year. After hitting 5.1 and 5.4 yards per carry in 2019 and 2020, respectively, he’s been at 4.3 and 4.4 per carry the past two years. The Titans need a quality passing-game option to emerge, and Burks is their best shot at that happening.

Obviously, if the Titans do in fact land DeAndre Hopkins, it could ultimately change Burks’ outlook as the undeniable alpha of the group.

However, it should also allow Burks to face much more favorable matchups throughout the year, which in turn could elevate his game to an entirely different level.

Nonetheless, if the Titans are going to prove their doubters wrong in 2023, they’re undoubtedly going to need Burks to live up to the hype of being a first-round wide receiver.
