Despite his selection to the Jacksonville Jaguars not being official, fans of the franchise have done their part to welcome Trevor Lawrence to Duval County. This month, they collectively chipped in to get him a smart toaster and Dyson vacuum as wedding gifts, but with the funds way surpassing the intended goal, a decision was made to send the extra money to a charity of Lawrences choice.
On Sunday, Lawrence took to social media to let Jags fans know that he felt the love and appreciated the kind-hearted gesture. He also added that he and his wife, Marissa, would be adding $20,000 to the funds for charities in Jacksonville as he hopes to be a part of the community soon.
Thank you @Jaguars fans. We really appreciate the wedding gifts and donations for charities of our choice! In addition to the donations, Marissa and I will also be donating $20K to charities in Jacksonville. Thanks again, we hope to be a part of your community soon🙏🏻

According to the Jags fan who started the fund collection, Eric Dillard, over $31,100 has been raised for charity when adding in the Lawrences contribution. Simply put, that’s a figure that speaks volumes about how the citizens of Jacksonville (and the Lawrences) love to give.
With Trevor and Marissa’s donation – our “haha let’s buy him a toaster” fun has raised $31,203 for charity. That’s incredible.

With the 2021 NFL Draft 11 days away, Lawrence won’t have to wait long for the Jags to make his acquisition official as their coach Urban Meyer told NBC Sports that all signs point to the Jags drafting the Clemson star. Once that happens, Lawrence will be the highest Jags selection in team history.
