Boston Celtics two way duo Tacko Fall and Tremont Waters lead the Maine Red Claws to a 119-106 win over the Erie Bayhawks on Saturday, the former bouncing back from toe surgery earlier in the week.
Boston’s developmental affiliate secured the win over the New Orleans Pelicans’ G League team via Water’s hyper-efficient 26 points (on 8-of-12 shooting including 5-of-6 from beyond the arc) and 6 assists.
Fall had yet another double-double with the Claws, logging 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocked shots in his return to action.
The UCF product had missed his last game with Maine due to an ingrown toenail Fall had surgically removed, per Glenn Jordan of the Lewiston Sun Journal.
Earlier in the week, Fall quickly exited a game against the Westchester Knicks with an undisclosed injury, and did not return. While it’s far from certain the toe was the cause, it would make sense as the affliction — though minor — can make mobility painful.
The procedure was clearly a minor one, however, as the Senegalese center was right back to his old self, dominating the interior with his preternatural length.
The Red Claws get a bit of a break, not facing an opponent again until March 6th, when they face the Grand Rapids drive — developmental team of the Detroit Pistons — at the Portland Expo Building at 7pm ET.
