While it came in a loss, Boston Celtics two way point guard Tremont Waters and rookie sharpshooter Carsen Edwards stole the show at the NBA’s Las Vegas G League Winter Showcase Thursday.
In a 118-113 loss to the Canton Charge, the duo combined for 50 points, with the Purdue product logging 23 points, 8 boards, 4 assists and as many steals, shooting 50 % from the floor on the night.
The second-round pick has struggled a bit with accuracy with the parent club, shooting .333 from deep and just .303 inside the arc.
Waters dropped 27 points and 9 assists and 5 steals in the losing effort, but seems to have caught whatever has been plaguing Edwards, shooting 1-of-8 from deep on the night.

Two way Celtics center Tacko Fall joined rookie wing Romeo Langford with Boston the night prior to provide depth against the Dallas Mavericks, and did not play with the Claws as a result.
The G League Showcase features the entire G League’s 28 teams, and pits the top four teams of the regular season — the Grand Rapids Drive, Memphis Hustle, Salt Lake City Stars and Wisconsin Herd, this year — in a four-team tournament with a price of $100,000.
