By this time, it’s no secret that Deion Sanders is a college football national treasure. Colorado’s new head coach is constantly making headlines in the national media and has everybody buzzing about a Buffs program that finished 1-11 one season ago.
With the 2023 season still over one month away, the Coach Prime buzz hasn’t subsided. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who played college football at Cincinnati and just won another Super Bowl, raved about Sanders when Draymond Green asked him who he would like to interview on his podcast.
“I’ve always been a big Deion Sanders fan,” Kelce said. “(He’s) one of the best college coaches out there right now. Everything he touches turns to gold.”
Sanders was an NFL and MLB star as a rare two-sport professional athlete, and he turned Jackson State into a terrific football team in the FCS. Now, he will try to revitalize the Buffs program, which has been disappointing for some time now.
And, as Kelce mentions, everything Coach Prime touches turns to gold. Let’s hope the Buffs do as well.
