It’s yet to be seen how he’ll be utilized in the fall, but Travis Hunter is taking the majority of his spring reps at wide receiver as opposed to his primary position of cornerback.
Both Colorado head coach Deion Sanders and quarterback Shedeur Sanders confirmed in a press conference on Sunday that Hunter is putting the majority of his focus toward improving as a receiver during his first spring in Boulder.
“He needs to learn everything about being a receiver because he’s a natural DB,” Deion Sanders said. “He has to learn the signals, he has to understand the route movement, arms staying in tight to his body, the shoulders over his knees. He has to learn everything about being a receiver — checks and everything. He’s focusing a lot on receiver right now and we’re happy with his progress.”
Last year at Jackson State, Shedeur Sanders connected with Hunter 18 times for 190 yards and four touchdowns.
Another playmaker at WR certainly can’t hurt, and Hunter figures to be a dangerous X-factor for the Buffs’ offense — if not more.
“I’m feeling great that Travis is on my side,” Shedeur Sanders added.
