Transfer target Pete Nance set to visit UNC

Top transfer target Pete Nance will be on the UNC basketball campus this week for an official visit per multiple reports.

Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program are hoping to make one more addition to their roster for the upcoming 2022-23 college basketball season.

After missing out on Baylor’s Matthew Mayer, the Tar Heels have turned their focus to Northwestern’s [autotag]Pete Nance[/autotag] who withdrew from the NBA draft and announced he was transferring. While Nance’s recruitment in the portal has been quiet, Inside Carolina is reporting that the Tar Heels will get a visit from Nance this week.

Here is what IC wrote on the news reported by national recruiting analyst Eric Bossi:

The 6-11 forward is expected to take an official visit to North Carolina this week, multiple sources confirmed to Inside Carolina and 247sports National Recruiting Director Eric Bossi.

Nance has one year of eligibility left and averaged 14.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, with 2.7 assists and 1.1 blocks for Northwestern a year ago. That effort was good enough to earn him honorable mention All-Big Ten honors.

With one scholarship spot open on the roster, UNC has made Nance their priority target in the transfer portal. Now, let’s see if this visit can win him over and he becomes a Tar Heel.
