Transfer defensive lineman flips commitment from Louisville to Big Ten program

The Stephen F. Austin transfer has flipped his commitment to a Big Ten team.

The Wisconsin Badgers picked up a big commitment through the transfer portal Friday, as defensive lineman Brandon Lane officially flipped his commitment to the program from Louisville.

A player who originally began his collegiate career at South Dakota State, Lane has spent the last two seasons at Stephen F. Austin as one of the Lumberjacks top defensive players. Over that span, Lane had a combined 55 tackles, nine TFL, and 2.5 sacks, as well as a breakout 2023 season a year ago in which he had 44 tackles, 6.5 TFL, and 1.5 sacks over 11 games.

With this commitment to Wisconsin, it concludes an action packed offseason for Lane in the transfer portal, one that originally began by committing to Michigan State back in April. Lane would however decommit from the Spartans earlier this month, as well as commit to Louisville earlier this week before flipping to the Badgers on Friday.

The Stephen F. Austin transfer is now addition No. 16 for Wisconsin through the portal this offseason.
