Trail Blazers to sign former Seton Hall guard Jared Rhoden to 1-year contract

Rhoden averaged 10.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals in summer league.

Former Seton Hall guard Jared Rhoden will reportedly sign a one-year rookie contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Rhoden, who went undrafted, was named to the All-Big East first team last season after averaging 15.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 steals as a senior. He left the program tied for 33rd in scoring with 1,270 career points and 20th all time with 669 rebounds.

The 22-year-old played in the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer League with the Sacramento Kings. He averaged 10.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals in eight games, and scored in double figures six times.

Rhoden will join the Trail Blazers for training camp and have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot. The team also has an open two-way contract spot that Rhoden could be a candidate to earn.
