Trail Blazers: Scoot Henderson to miss additional 2-3 weeks with injury

Trail Blazers rookie guard Scoot Henderson will miss an additional 2-3 weeks due to a right ankle injury.

Portland Trail Blazers rookie guard Scoot Henderson, who has missed the past four games, will miss an additional 2-3 weeks due to a right ankle injury, the team announced.

Henderson sustained the injury on Nov. 1 in a 110-101 win over the Detroit Pistons. The team said that an MRI revealed bone bruising in addition to an ankle sprain after Henderson continued to experience discomfort with the injury.

The third pick recorded 11 points and seven assists in that game.

The Trail Blazers have dealt with several injuries to start the year. Anfernee Simons (thumb), Malcolm Brogdon (hamstring) and Robert Williams III (knee) have all missed time.

Henderson is averaging 8.8 points, 4.6 assists and 2.2 rebounds on 34.6% shooting from the field in five starts this season. He has finished in double figures three times and scored a season-high 11 points in each game.
