One of the biggest playmakers in the FCS ranks will be donning new colors at the FBS level this fall.
Former Towson running back Shane Simpson confirmed to Draft Wire’s Justin Melo that he’ll be continuing his college football career at Virginia.
Simpson provided Melo with the following statement regarding his decision:
I prayed on this decision. I went for a drive earlier today and cleared my head. I knew I had a big decision to make. I ultimately thought it would be best for me and my family for me to take my talents down to Virginia.
Simpson weighed several offers from the FBS level before ultimately deciding on Virginia.
Simpson has been one of Towson’s best players over the past few seasons. Viewed by many as an all-around weapon, Simpson led the FCS in all-purpose yards per game during the 2018 season. His 2019 campaign was unfortunately cut short due to a knee injury.
Simpson recently entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer. He will be a sixth-year senior in 2020.
