Touchdown Wire lists boundary cornerbacks as Vikings’ biggest need

Touchdown Wire thinks the Vikings’ biggest need is boundary cornerbacks, because of 2019-20 performances, and some corners possibly leaving.

With the way the salary cap is looking, it seems like the Vikings may have to cut a lot of veteran talent in the offseason. That could lead to the team having needs at various positions.

Our friends at Touchdown Wire think the biggest need, though, is at corner. The outlet listed boundary cornerbacks as Minnesota’s most pressing issue in free agency.

Touchdown Wire had this to say about the decision:

“Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has been one of the NFL’s best defensive minds for a very long time, and given his history of teaching cornerbacks to be great, it must have been incredibly frustrating for Zimmer to watch Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes.”

Rhodes might be a cap casualty and Waynes is entering free agency. As Touchdown Wire said, both are coming off disappointing seasons. If Minnesota frees up space in the cap, the corners out wide for Minnesota next season could be a lot different.
