Prediction
Raptors 106, Thunder 101
Moneyline (ML)
The RAPTORS (+105) have generally survived a rash of injuries to begin the 2020 calendar year and are expected to put forth their healthiest roster of ’20 Wednesday night. They’re 11-7 on the road for the year but 4-6 across their last 10 games. They’re coming off a 105-104 home loss to the San Antonio Spurs Sunday.
The Thunder (-129) are 13-7 on home court and 8-2 over their last 10 games overall, including a 117-104 road win over the Minnesota Timberwolves Monday. The Thunder beat the Raps 98-97 in Toronto Dec. 29, but the Raptors were without PF Pascal Siakam, C Marc Gasol and SG Norman Powell, among others. All three are expected to be in the lineup Wednesday. Take the value with the visitors in the revenge spot.
New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Raptors to win returns a profit of $10.50 as slight road underdogs.
Line/Against the Spread (ATS)
Stick with the more profitable moneyline and PASS on the lower -106 odds for the Raptors to cover a spread of +1.5. The single point of insurance isn’t worth the smaller profit margin in a game I expect the underdog visitors to win outright.
Toronto is 21-18 against the spread overall and 9-9 on the road, while OKC is 27-13 ATS overall and 12-8 at home. The Raps have had an extra day of rest, and the books seem to be undervaluing their return to health.
Over/Under (O/U)
Take the UNDER 211.5 (+105) at plus-money. The year’s first meeting between the two cross-conference opponents fell well short of Wednesday’s number (195) and both teams have played to the Under more often than not this season.
