The Toronto Blue Jays (26-21) and New York Yankees (27-21) play the middle game of a three-game set at Yankee Stadium Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Blue Jays-Yankees MLB betting odds and lines, with picks and best bets.
Tuesday: The Yankees crushed the Jays 20-6 behind 5 RBIs apiece from 2B DJ LeMahieu (4-for-6) and 1B Luke Voit (2 HRs). New York, which took over second place in the AL East with 12 games to go, led 7-1 after two innings, 12-1 after three and 16-3 after four.
Season series: Tied 2-2.

Yankees 6, Blue Jays 1
Money line (ML)
The Yankees (-278) are big favorites with Cole coming off a seven-inning, two-hit, shutout. Plus, DH/OF Giancarlo Stanton and 3B Gio Urshela are back, activated off the injured list before Tuesday’s rout. But I can’t suggest to bet that kind of chalk. It’s just not wise as far as risk management goes.
To profit $1 on a Yankees ML play, one must bet $2.78 (or $278 to win $100), while a winning $1 Blue Jays (+240) ML bet profits $2.40. PASS.
Run line/Against the spread (ATS)
The YANKEES (-1.5, -125) are the STRONGEST PLAY. All five of Cole’s victories have been by 3 or more runs. He has a 2.50 ERA in his last three starts (18 IP, 5 ER), which spells doom for the Jays (+1.5, +105).
Meanwhile, Toronto’s Roark has yielded 10 earned runs in his last three starts (13 1/3 IP) for a 6.75 ERA. (Strongest plays should be 1½ times your usual wager.)
Over/Under (O/U)
The O/U is 8.5 (-110 on both sides). Cole will shut down Toronto’s offense, but I’m leery of New York’s bats hitting the Over on their own. I’ll PASS.
I miserably failed you Tuesday with my suggestions of Toronto (+140) and a “strongest play” of the Under (closed at 9) as New York squashed both in the 20-6 rout. Thus, I’m pinpointing just one Wednesday play – let’s bounce back with the YANKEES (-1.5, -125) run line.
