Topps breaks internet with brilliant Tom Brady what-if MLB scenario

This epic campaign by Topps features the greatest what-if scenario in sports with Tom Brady.

What if Tom Brady made his legacy on the baseball diamond in MLB instead of an NFL football field?

The Super Bowls would be replaced with World Series victories and passing touchdowns replaced with home runs. It would be a much different world if the greatest quarterback in NFL history was suddenly the greatest catcher.

Topps is preparing to release its Bowman 2023 Draft set baseball cards, which typically features MLB rookies. However, this latest set could possibly include a Brady card, if collector’s are lucky enough.

There have been 162 Brady cards that have randomly been sent out with 61 of them being autographed. Topps is going all in on the campaign with the what-if scenario of Brady going the MLB route and playing for the Montreal Expos instead of the Patriots.

Brady was legitimately a talented baseball player coming out of high school. He was drafted in the 18th round of the 1995 MLB draft by the Expos with hopes of him developing into a star player for the team.

Former Expos and Los Angeles Dodgers general manager Kevin Malone told Bleacher Report that Brady “could have been one of the greatest catchers ever.”

Instead, he was drafted 199th overall by the Patriots, won seven Super Bowls and left an all-time great legacy behind in football. Not bad for a would-be baseball star.
