As North Carolina continues to move forward with top targets on their big board for the 2025 class, one prospect that is emerging as a big target is five-star power forward Nate Ament.
The top 10 recruit has a visit scheduled to North Carolina for the fall, giving the Tar Heels a chance to impress him. And after a busy summer where Ament improved his stock as a recruit, he’s becoming a priority for a lot of programs.
Ament caught up with Charlie Parent of Zag’s Blog recently to talk about the teams in his recruitment, including North Carolina. Here is what Ament had to say about UNC:
North Carolina: “It says a lot to be super close in his [Hubert Davis’] first year. [It’s] another prolific offense and he continues to grow players as well.”
Other programs in heavy pursuit include Duke, UConn, Kentucky and Virginia, all programs that Ament has visits to this fall. This will be a tough recruitment for UNC due to the teams they are battling out to land him.
But getting that visit and continuing to establish that relationship is important.
Ament is ranked No. 7 nationally, No. 4 power forward and the No. 1 player in the state of Virginia per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
