Top target Colin Simmons canceled Colorado visit to attend LSU spring game

The Tigers appear to be the leader in the race for one of the nation’s best high school prospects.

One of the nation’s top prospects, [autotag]Colin Simmons[/autotag], was in Baton Rouge for the spring football game this Saturday.

The Duncanville (Tex.) pass rusher shows significant athleticism and hand skills. His ability to turn the corner is one of his strong suits. Per On3, Simmons planned to be at Colorado’s spring game but changed his plans to visit LSU.

Simmons is a highly talented five-star+ EDGE recruit. He measures around 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds. Simmons is the fifth-ranked overall recruit and the top edge rusher in the nation. He has interest from virtually every school in the country but has shown a natural affinity for the SEC.

He states that Baton Rouge “feels like Texas”. This would be a huge get for the Tigers and would likely make an immediate impact in the trenches.
