Top recruit in 2025 class dishes on UNC basketball offer

The top player in the 2025 basketball recruiting class talked about receiving an offer from the UNC basketball program.

The North Carolina Tar Heels officially entered the race for both Cameron and Cayden Boozer, the sons of former Duke standout Carlos Boozer, by offering them earlier in the week.

Cameron is the No. 1 player in the 2025 class, and both are highly sought prospects. With Duke offering the twins already, the Tar Heels have decided to get into the recruitments and try to steal one or both.

While at the USA Basketball tryouts for the U16 team in Colorado Springs, Cameron caught up with Eric Bossi of 247Sports to talk about his recruitment and where things stand. He was asked about the offer from UNC and what it meant to him.

“We got on a call with Hubert Davis and he said that he wants to build a relationship with us and see us in person and continue to build our relationship and further our recruiting,” said Boozer. “It’s a great school, an amazing offer and I’m super happy to have that offer so I’m going to keep looking forward and staying calm about my recruitment.”

“My dad supports it. He wants me to make the right decision for me no matter what it is.”

The Blue Devils have an edge in this recruitment, seeing that Carlos played at Duke and UNC is a hated rival. But judging by the comments above, it doesn’t seem like the Tar Heels are automatically out of the race because of that.

Still, UNC does have work to do in this recruitment, and it will be interesting to see how much interest there is from the two sides as it goes on.
