After weeks of speculation, QB Bryce Underwood flipped from LSU to Michigan.
Underwood, the No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2025, confirmed the news on Instagram Thursday evening.
There’s no other way to put it. This is a massive hit for LSU. Reports about a massive NIL offer from Michigan have swirled for weeks, but LSU remained confident in its chances, counting on Underwood’s relationship with LSU OC Joe Sloan.
It wasn’t enough as Underwood opted to flip to his home state school after spending the last 10 months committed to the Tigers.
Underwood was set to be the top QB recruit in LSU history. Now, with two weeks until signing day, the Tigers are left scrambling. The class is still strong at other spots, but this news stunts any momentum LSU had on the recruiting trail.
Underwood’s flip leaves LSU with two five-stars left in the class — RB Harlem Berry and CB DJ Pickett.
Pickett’s recruitment isn’t completely shut down and LSU may have its work cut out there too.
The anticipation of Underwood’s arrival has gotten some LSU fans through the losing streak, but the Tiger faithful must find solace in something else now.
