One of the most prestigious events for a high school quarterback is having its event after all during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Elite 11 and The Opening Finals annually coincide with each other at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The Opening Finals—where 150 or more of the top high school football prospects compete—is not happening, but the Elite 11 is.
The coveted event will take place in Nashville, Tennessee, from June 29 through July 1. Oklahoma’s only quarterback target, five-star and No. 1 quarterback Caleb Williams, received an invite and will compete with the nation’s best high school quarterbacks for the lucrative title of ‘Elite 11 MVP’.

Former Oklahoma commit Brock Vandagriff will also be competing, as well as eight of the top-10 quarterbacks in the country according to Rivals. Twelve of the past 13 quarterbacks to win the Heisman Trophy competed in the Elite 11 Finals or an Elite 11 regional event. Fifteen of the top-20 NFL passers in 2019 attended the Elite 11 Finals or an Elite 11 regional.
Williams competing in this event is nothing new to Oklahoma high school targets—presumed 2020 starting quarterback Spencer Rattler won the Elite 11 MVP during the 2018 event.
No broadcast information has been released for the 2020 Elite 11 Finals.
