The second transfer portal window officially closed on Sunday, meaning that any players who enter the portal following this point, will not be eligible for next season.
As of May 1st, there are over 1,000 players in the transfer portal who had FBS scholarships, according to Max Olson of The Athletic. While the transfer portal in this window didn’t see as many high instant impact players as the first transfer portal window did shortly after the end of the 2022 regular season, it was still a window that saw plenty of high-quality players enter.
Up front, it’s worth noting that it’s a very deep wide-receiver portal right now. Each of our top-three prospects is wide receivers and serval of our honorable mentions are wideouts as well. It’s also a quality grouping right now in the secondary at cornerback and safety. On the opposite end, don’t expect many impactful running backs or tight ends to exit the portal in the upcoming weeks and months as those two positions are on the weaker side of the portal.
Below, we offer our top 10 players currently in the transfer portal as well as offering up a handful of honorable mentions. These players were picked based on their remaining eligibility, their collegiate performances so far, and depending on how far removed they are from their high school career, their original recruiting status.
