1.) The secondary
The Bucs pass defense ranked 30th in the league last season, allowing 270.1 yards per game. I have no doubt we’ll see a marked improvement in the unit this season, but how big a jump they’ll take remains to be seen. Going from 30th to 24th would be a nice climb, but will it be good enough to stop pass-happy quarterbacks like Brees, Ryan, Rodgers and Mahomes? Even Jared Goff of the Los Angeles Rams has the potential to put up big numbers from time to time, and the Bucs will have to contend with him, too, this upcoming season. Tampa Bay’s offense seems ready to take the league by storm, and the rush defense should remain tops in the league thanks to the re-signing of both Ndamukong Suh and Jason Pierre-Paul. It’s the secondary that has the most pressure on it heading into 2020. The Bucs’ playoff chances could very well hinge on how they perform.
