Hubert Davis and his staff have just one player committed in the 2023 recruiting class with guard Simeon Wilcher pledging his verbal in October of 2021. After missing out on G.G. Jackson, Matas Buzelis, and T.J. Power, the focus has shifted to Zayden High.
The 6-foot-9, 225-pound forward hails out of Spring Branch, Texas and is the last remaining target on UNC’s recruiting board.
Hugh will visit UNC on Friday for what was supposed to be the Live Action event and is still making the trip despite the postponement and the weather forecast. That could bode to be good news for UNC as High is expected to cut his list down soon.
Per Alex Karamanos of Circuit Scouting, High is expected to cut his list down to five finalists on Monday:
2023 4 ⭐️ Zayden High (@zayy23den) will announce his top five schools this upcoming Monday @AZCompass_Prep @JL3Elite

This should be good news for UNC, especially after the visit is still on as scheduled for this weekend.
At this point, it would be shocking for UNC not to make the top 5 list released on Monday, and with the visit, they really have a shot to make a big impression on the talented recruit.
