The LSU Tigers recently signed two running backs in the early signing period for the 2021 recruiting class in Corey Kiner and Armoni Goodwin.
Now, head coach Ed Orgeron is already thinking about adding one of the top running backs for 2022 in four-star Rueben Owens.
Owens, a 5-foot-11, 187-pound back from El Campo High in El Campo, Texas, recently discussed the schools that are standing out most to him, and the Tigers were one of five schools he likes best.
Owens recently spoke with Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports and discussed why each school stood out to him. LSU offered Owens first, and that certainly means something to the top player in Texas.

“LSU was the first program to offer me and has done a great job recruiting me so far,” Owens said.
In his first year as an on-field coach for LSU, former Tiger great Kevin Faulk is certainly making an impact on the recruiting trail, and picking up a commitment from Owens would be a major boost for the Tigers in the talent-rich state of Texas.
According to 247Sports, Owens is the No. 26 overall player in 2022, the No. 1 player in Texas and the No. 2 running back in the country.
He has no timeframe for a decision and has no leader at the current time.
