Top 101 player list for 2020 NFL season includes a pair of former Florida Gators

D.J. Humphries and Marcus Maye were the only two former Gators to appear on Pro Football Focus’ top-101 list after the 2020-21 season ended.

Humphries, on the other hand, had a much slower start to his career after being taken 24th overall in 2015. Injuries limited his production early on, but he was rewarded with a contract extension heading into this season, and he followed it up with the best season of his career.

This season marked a true breakout season for former first-round pick D.J. Humphries. After an underwhelming first month of play, Humphries was a rock over the final three-quarters of the season, surrendering just 12 total pressures in his final 12 games. Humphries allowed only one sack over that time and recorded an overall PFF grade above 90.0 while protecting for a quarterback who tends to hold the ball and make life difficult for his offensive linemen. Humphries was one of the best tackles in the game this season, particularly after the first month.

Both players are coming off breakout seasons in 2020, and given their age and the fact that they were unranked last season, they could be higher on this list next season.
