The two primary football programs in the state, Texas and Texas A&M, are putting an emphasis on trying to keep the top in-state talent from leaving the state.
Each program made significant strides within the 2022 class, primarily with the Aggies signing the highest rated recruiting class of all time. However, the top 10 prospects for the class of 2023 in the state of Texas are currently uncommitted.
Much of the attention will likely center around five-star quarterback Arch Manning out of Louisiana, but there are numerous blue chip players in Texas and Texas A&M’s own backyard.
The top recruit in the state is currently five-star defensive lineman David Hicks out of Allen, Texas. Early 247Sports crystal balls predict Hicks to land with the Aggies, but the Longhorns are among his top schools as well.
