Jim Harbaugh said after the Ohio State game as well as after the College Football Playoff semifinal that ‘this is the beginning.’ Now we’ll know for certain in 2022 whether that’s true or not.

The Wolverines lose a lot of personnel on the defensive side of the ball and have a ton of question marks across various position groups. But the offense returns nearly intact, with three starters moving on, but Ronnie Bell returning after tearing his ACL in the 2021 season opener.

The 2022 schedule sets up quite nicely, with perhaps the easiest nonconference slate in memory, while the maize and blue have but two tough road games, while eight games are at home.

Will the defense round into form by the time Michigan football travels to Ohio State on Nov. 26? Will the Wolverines reclaim the Paul Bunyan Trophy? Will they manage to win on the road at Kinnick for once? Here’s our too-early 2022 game predictions now that the schedule is set.
