Tony Vitello has revitalized Tennessee’s baseball program.
He has now been rewarded for it.
On Tuesday, the school announced Vitello, who recently completed his fourth season as Tennessee’s head coach, has received an extension through 2026.
In 2021, Vitello guided the Vols to a 50-win season, just the third in program history.
The Vols went 50-18 and reached the College World Series for the fifth time in school history. UT made its first trip to the College World Series since 2005, winning the NCAA Knoxville Regional and eliminated LSU in the Knoxville Super Regional.
The Vols posted a 20-10 record in the SEC and won the Eastern Division title, finishing second in the league’s overall season.
