Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello recaps the Vols’ win versus Wofford.

No. 16 Tennessee (31-14, 11-10 SEC) defeated Wofford (32-12, 8-4 SoCon), 13-3, Tuesday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The contest ended in a run-rule decision during the seventh inning.

Zander Sechrist started for the Vols and pitched 2.2 innings. He recorded three strikeouts, totaling 38 pitches (23 strikes) against nine batters.

AJ Russell (2-0) pitched 2.1 innings, allowing one earned run, two walks and zero hits, while recording five strikeouts against 11 batters. He earned the win for Tennessee.

Dylan Dreiling and Christian Moore hit home runs for the Vols.

Jared Dickey went 3-for-3, totaling three RBIs, two runs and one stolen base for Tennessee.

The win is Tennessee’s eighth consecutive. Tennessee ended a nine-game homestand with an 8-1 record.

Third-year Tennessee football head coach Josh Heupel threw out the first pitch ahead of the Vols’ contest versus Wofford.
