Tennessee scored 15 runs on 16 hits in the seventh and eighth innings against the Tigers.
The Vols hit six home runs in the contest and recorded its 100th home run as a team during the season. Tennessee’s program record for home runs in a season is 107.
First pitch for game No. 2 is slated for 7 p.m. EDT Saturday (SEC Network), while Sunday’s series finale is set for noon EDT (SEC Network+).
