Sources: The #Ravens are releasing S Tony Jefferson, a starter for the last three seasons. He had a cap hit of almost $12M, and this saves the majority of it.

In what appears to be a cost-cutting measure, the Baltimore Ravens are releasing starting safety Tony Jefferson. Jefferson was lost for the season in 2019 after a knee injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers sent him to the IR.
Hopefully, the Steelers are paying attention. By all accounts, Jefferson is well on his way to a full recovery but the fact he’s still working his way back works in favor of a team like Pittsburgh who desperately needs a third safety for their rotation.
Jefferson is 28 years old heading into his eighth season. For his career, Jefferson has 66 starts and 451 tackles. He’s always been a great player, great in the locker room and excellent in the community.
