Tom Brady took a subtle jab at Aaron Rodgers’ drama with the Packers during The Match

Well played, Tom.

In the lead-up to TNT’s The Match with Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady, Bryson DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers, Brady hasn’t shied away from the occasional trash talk.

Brady has joked about the Packers’ decision to kick a field goal down eight late in the NFC Championship Game at basically every chance he gets. But you just knew he’d also find a way to fit in some more comments about Rodgers’ fractured relationship with the Green Bay Packers once they hit the course.

It was inevitable.

While Brady was catching up with longtime teammate Rob Gronkowski in an in-match phone call, Brady made a genuinely funny remark about Rodgers’ uncertainty in Green Bay.

Brady said:

“I’m studying my competition. Look, I’m 30 yards away from Aaron, who’s the leader of the Packers … I think.”

Pretty much everyone busted out laughing after that, and Rodgers cracked a smile because, well, nobody really knows what’s going on between the reigning MVP and Green Bay.

Rodgers didn’t report to mandatory minicamp last month, and we’ll have to see if that carries over into training camp. In the meantime, Brady is going to joke about it.
