Tom Brady shares strong message about free agency: ‘Nobody knows anything’

Tom Brady discussed his thoughts on free agency with Charlie Weis.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady made one thing clear this weekend: Nothing is clear.

He was texting with his former offensive coordinator Charlie Weis amid the unending drama of his pending free agency situation. Everyone seems to have different information about Brady’s future with (or without) the Patriots. Everyone seems to have a different opinion, too. But Brady and Weis seemed to be trying to throw cold water on the hot takes.

While serving as a co-host on Sirius XM NFL Radio’s “Opening Drive” program, Weis shared some insight from Brady. Here’s that information, as transcribed by ESPN’s Mike Reiss:

“I do have one bit of scoop for us. I’ve been texting with Tommy. I don’t (usually) pass along these conversations, but one thing he told me — ‘Nobody knows anything. So anyone who is telling you they know, they don’t know.’ I’m not going through any other part of the conversation (but) I followed up and he said, ‘Clean it up.’ So I’m cleaning it up.”

Brady’s agent Don Yee admitted talks with the Patriots are complicated during the NFL and NFLPA’s collective bargaining agreement negotiations. Bill Belichick seems to be waiting for a conclusion on that deal before he begins to finalize (or begin) negotiations with Brady and Yee.

In the meantime, we’ll wait.
