New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady took to Instagram to reflect upon the 2019 season, which was a tough year for his team.
While the Patriots were 12-4, they played on wild-card weekend for the first time since 2009 amid 11 consecutive playoff appearances. New England didn’t look ready for the Tennessee Titans. Brady’s struggled in the game — much like he and the offense did all season — and the Titans won.
After making three consecutive trips to the Super Bowl, Brady and the Patriots were eliminated in the wild-card round, The Patriots quarterback reflected upon that on social media on Wednesday.
“I wish every season ended in a win, but that’s not the nature of sports (or life),” Brady wrote. “Nobody plays to lose. But the reward for working hard is just that, the work!! I have been blessed to find a career I love, teammates who go to battle with me, an organization that believes in me, and fans who have been behind us every step of the way.”
He added: “In both life and football, failure is inevitable. You dont always win. You can, however, learn from that failure, pick yourself up with great enthusiasm, and place yourself in the arena again.
“And that’s right where you will find me. Because I know I still have more to prove.”
Brady’s contract with the Patriots is set to expire in March, and he has expressed his intention to keep playing in the NFL despite being the first quarterback to ever complete a full NFL season at 42 years old. The question is whether he’ll continue to play with the Patriots.
