Tom Brady puts final nail in the coffin of NFL return rumors

Tom Brady puts an end to NFL return rumors once and for all.

Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady put the final nail in the coffin of his NFL return rumors, when speaking with SI Now’s Robin Lundberg.

With Brady buying a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, there has been outside chatter of the possibility of him returning to the field at some point to play quarterback for the Raiders.

The move would have reunited him with his former longtime offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Josh McDaniels. He would have also had a bevy of elite talent to work with on the field, including Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs.

But even with all of that talent, Brady is making it clear that his playing days are behind him. It’s on to broadcasting at FOX for the greatest quarterback that ever played the game.

“I’m certain I’m not playing again,” said Brady. “So I’ve tried to make that clear, and I hate to continue to profess that cause I’ve already told people that lots of times. But I’m looking forward to my broadcasting job at FOX next year.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity ahead with the Raiders, and we’re in the process of that, along with the other different things that I’m a part of professionally and in my personal life. Just spending as much time with my kids as I can and seeing them grow up and support the different things that they have going on. And that’s a very important job. And I take them all pretty seriously.”

Brady is set to return to Foxboro in the Patriots’ home opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on September 10. According to owner Robert Kraft, it will be the first of many celebrations to thank Brady for everything he has done for the Patriots’ organization.
