Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady hosted a workout with about eight of his new teammates on Tuesday morning at Berkeley Preparatory School, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
With the coronavirus pandemic shutting down NFL facilities — along with business all over the country — Brady seems to be making an effort to work with and get to know his new teammates. However, it does not appear they wore masks or practiced social distancing when looking at images from the Times.
Receivers Mike Evans and Scotty Miller, center Ryan Jensen, tight ends Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard, quarterbacks Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Griffin, and running back Dare Ogunbowale were among the players in attendance.
Recent comments from Chris Godwin seemed liked fitting context for the workout — even if the receiver wasn’t there.
“Obviously, the careers that these guys (Brady and Rob Gronkowski) have already had is pretty insane,” Godwin said on NFL Network. “For them to come here and add the experience that they have and to really help mold our offense and mold our team into what we want to be, which is title contenders, winning Super Bowls, I think it’s going to go a long way in terms of helping our franchise go in the right direction.”
It’s a tricky situation for NFL players as they try to prepare for the NFL season. Brady is striving for greatness, with hopes of bringing his teammates up to his level. But of course, it’s strange he’s not respecting the CDC’s recommendations to practice social distancing and to wear masks when getting within six feet of each other.
