Tom Brady got right in Chiefs lineman Chris Jones’ face during a heated exchange

Tom Brady wasn’t scared.

There aren’t many players in the NFL who are too good for trash talk. The list honestly might just be Tom Brady and Larry Fitzgerald. But at least on Sunday, Brady didn’t back down from the opportunity to get into an opponent’s face.

The Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots met for a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship Game, which didn’t bring back the fondest memories for Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones. You may remember that Jones was called for an extremely questionable roughing penalty during that AFC title game as New England rallied to win.

Whether that had anything to do with the exchange that unfolded during the second quarter of Sunday’s game, we don’t know. But Jones and Brady went face-to-face before being separated by Patriots players.

Oh, that was just a 42-year-old future Hall of Famer getting ready to throw down with a 6-foot-6, 311-pound defensive lineman. No big deal.

We may never know for certain what Jones and Brady said to each other, but NFL fans had a few guesses.

That’s the showdown we never knew we needed.
