Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady didn’t go quietly into that good night after being the recipient of a good burn from former New York Giants signal-caller Eli Manning.
Brady had initially posted a photo of himself catching a big fish, which was promptly followed up with a response and picture from Manning holding up an even bigger fish.
“Cute Minnow, Tom!” Manning posted on social media.
Brady, who is probably still feeling the pain of the two Super Bowls he lost to Manning, came back swinging for the fences with an epic response.
“You use a helmet to catch that one too?” asked Brady.
The comment was an obvious reference to the helmet catch made by former Giants receiver David Tyree late in Super Bowl XLII. That play kept a game-winning drive alive and helped the Giants win the championship and ruin the Patriots’ perfect season.
Brady and Manning are friends now that both are retired from the game, but as seen throughout the years, they aren’t shy about taking subtle jabs at one another from time to time.
